Graphite Design Inc. (GD) was established in August of 1989 with the purpose of manufacturing the highest quality graphite shafts within US golf industry. The word QUALITY is defined by GD as golf shaft designed first and foremost for performance, using the most advanced materials available in the market place combined with the best manufacturing process and technical equipment.
GD has developed robotic equipment, new materials with the leading fiber manufactures and patented designs for products used by world's best professionals, average golfers and unskilled beginners. In 1998, GD was asked by one of the largest OEM Golf Club Company in the US to build a manufacturing plant in the CA area of the US. This became the current Graphite Design International Company now located in San Diego, CA. The 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility models the years of GD design and manufacturing technical know-how. GDI currently houses and uses the newest material in the industry. GDI has over 142 different types of composite materials with-in our design portfolio. In a two short years, GDI has became one on the largest graphite golf shaft manufacturing companies in the US specializing in high quality, unique graphite golf shafts.
In the year of 1999, GDI began to serving the Professional Golf Tours in the US and Europe. Learning from the success GD has valued from the Japan Professional Golf Tour (over 85% of all graphite shafts played on the JPGA in GD product), GDI has introduced the highest quality performance shafts to Professionals worldwide. The acceptance and performance benefits are now proven with the PGA Tour usage of GDI YS Brand line. In the year of 2000 on the PGA Tour, the GDI brand product is currently number one on Tour in Graphite Driver shaft wins on the PGA Tour. Although we are not allowed to publish the names of the players using our product, look at the top 50 world ranking list and you will find the majority of the graphite driver shafts used are designed and manufactured by GDI.
