Chikara Designs first club is a limited edition custom prototype wedge. The wedges feature a custom grind by master grinder, Carlton Masui.
These hand-made clubs are one of the first in the world to use a unique forging process which softens the feel of the hit while still delivering all the same power as regular clubs. Other features include S25C head material, milled face, and a 5 cut sole for cleaner ball contact and multiple shot play.
They are very limited in numbers and come in lofts of 52°, and 60°.
The standard shaft is the Dynamic Gold S-400 black and the grip is the Lamkin Crossline black. Although we offer any options as usual at Pure Forged Golf including custom paint fill!
The Chikara Designs Prototype Wedges comes in black.
You may not know the name Carlton Masui, but chances are good you’ve run across his products.
Masui has worked for Gauge Design in Japan and helped design wedges and putters. He left the company in the late ’90’s but has opened a shop in Hawaii and has been doing quality club work since 2006.
Masui has become famous for building clubs and grinding wedges for teen phenom Tadd Fujikawa. Masui’s most recent adventure - releasing the Chikara Designs line which begins his own line of production wedges. This is not your typical run of the mill sand wedge. Everything about the club is performance oriented, from the forging process it’s made from to it’s pronounced sole grind and head shape.
So exactly what makes Carl’s Chikara wedges that much better than other wedges on the market?
